To Be Sought and Saved

Luke 19:10 NLT

"For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”

The Son of Man is another name for Jesus. Luke tells us that the ultimate reason or even goal of Jesus coming to Earth was to seek and save the lost. In a sense, the lost ones refer to people without an owner or someone to call theirs. Jesus came to bring those people back to the loving arms of the Father. As humans, we are prone to wander, but Jesus chose to overlook those mistakes and take us back.

The definition of the word seeking is to search intently for someone. In order to seek, there must be a passionate drive for finding whatever or even whoever you are looking for. The amount of devotion Jesus put into finding us to bring us back was nothing but incredible love. To save is to pull someone out of and away from the things meant to destroy them. Jesus showed this to us by not only finding us but also saving us from the path of evil the enemy had destined for you and me.

Please, let this encourage you to know that Jesus chose to seek you out when others wouldn't bother to search for you, and He saved you because He loves you and sees your worth.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for choosing to recognize the fact I was missing, and away from You, and for being willing to seek me out, save me, and bring me home to You. I love You Lord.

Amen

Wow, “in order to seek, there must be a passionate drive to find someone or something!!!” Love this! Jesus had a passionate drive to find me - lost me! And He didn’t relent in His search until He found and saved me!!!🙌🔥❤️

He seeks us with passion. And it is that same passion that he demonstrated in destroying the power of the devil (1 John 3:8) when He rose from the dead.
