Psalms 34:18 (NLT)
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed."
I am so grateful that even in my lowest and most broken moments, the Lord is near. The Psalmist here says that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted. Have you ever had your heart broken? It could have been because of a failed relationship, a dream deemed as lost or forgotten, or even the effect of hopelessness that disappointment brings, we have most definitely had a wound to our hearts. The comfort we have is simply trusting and believing what God says as we go about these seasons of life: He is near. Not only does God's presence help heal our hearts, but we can rest assured knowing that He restores all that is broken. Nothing you and I go through in life goes unnoticed by God, nor is any tear or heartbreak in vain. If anything, the Lord turns what the enemy destined for evil in our lives for good (Genesis 50:20).
Not only is the Lord with us during our darkest hours, but we have the additional encouragement of knowing that He comes to our rescue. Those who have had their spirits crushed in any way, shape, or form have not been forgotten or abandoned by God. If anything, it is in the times when we feel trapped in the lowest of the lows that God steps in on our behalf and intervenes. All we can do is trust in what God says, and trust me, I know it is hard, but I promise you this thing for sure: God sees you and is with you. He has not forgotten about you. Your rescue plan has been dispatched and is on the way.
Prayer:
Lord, I am struggling to believe that You will heal and restore my brokenheartedness. Jesus, I need You to step in and do what only You can do, because I can't do this on my own. Help me Jesus. Heal me Jesus. Make me whole again and deliver me Lord.
