OUR STORY
by Genelle Asamoah
The Founder of The Philanthropical Faith
I am a 15-year-old girl, who one day, out of the blue, felt the impression of the Holy Spirit to start a devotional blog. The first thing that popped into my mind was to tell my mom that this is what I was feeling, and she encouraged me and said "I think that would work. Let's do it!" I was so so so excited! Over the moon, I tell you.
Since the feeling was to do a blog that leaned towards my faith and devotions, I began to dive into my Bible and find and read random verses of the day, pray about them, and let the Holy Spirit speak to me. The revelations I got were CRAZY. It was like my brain had opened up a whole new tunnel in which my faith grew, and I was gaining insight from verses that I had read many times before but saw them in a new light. I am so very grateful that I heard the voice of God so clearly, and followed His instructions when it came to starting this blog.
I was sitting on my bed one day after church, praying and asking the Lord for a name for my blog. I wanted the name to be something powerful, catchy, and unique. All of a sudden the word "philanthropic" popped into my mind, and I immediately looked it up. Philanthropic means "to be seeking to promote the welfare of others or to be generous." I just about flipped out! That word is the epiphany of everything that my blog was about! An instantaneous miracle, I tell you! It was powerful, catchy, and unique ALL IN ONE! So I modified the word a bit and came up with "The Philanthropical Faith" as the name of my devotional because our faith is a generous one; we are called to share it with others to promote their welfare and put their souls in better places.
The hand of God is all over this blog, and my heart's prayer is that The Philanthropical Faith will encourage you and allow you to see God in a whole new way!
