Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT) Part 1
"Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."
Out of all the verses in the Bible, this passage of Scripture is my favorite one. It is so simple, yet extremely powerful. When reading verses 6 through 7, I believe there are five easy steps that one can use to live out this daily walk called life.
Step 1: Don't worry about anything
As cliche as this may sound, know that it's 100% true! We are told to have no worries or concerns in our life. Whether it be an unsettling task to overcome or a trivial one that still keeps you up at night, we are commanded not to worry about anything at all.
The definition of worry is to "give way to anxiety or unease" or "to allow one's mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles." Everyone has experienced the weight of worry and the lingering pressure of its grip. The feelings of stress, uneasiness, and anxiety are debilitating. If entertained and left unattended, they can cripple the soul, choking the joy out of it. If we know that this is what goes on when we let worry in, why would we ever want to make room in our lives for it?
What in your life do you constantly worry about? What makes you stressed, tense, or even fearful? Well, I want to encourage you today to know that God does not want you to worry about ANYTHING (emphasis on the word anything). No matter what trial or tribulation you may be facing today, it is highly crucial for you to not waste a moment of your life dwelling on your problematic circumstances, no matter how fear-inducing they may seem.
As people, we are constantly in situations where we become anxious or intimidated. I know I have felt that way many times before, and I'm sure you have too. Worry is like a contagious disease: once you encounter it, it follows you around, and weakens your Spiritual Immune System, and attacks the cells of confidence in your soul. Worry brings nothing beneficial to us, so why keep it? Instead, we could trust what God says about it and stop residing in its bondage. Once we leave that disease behind, we can live free of that spiritual ailment.
Our lives are far from perfect, and as a result of that, tests will most definitely come our way, and there will assuredly be some instances in which we feel worry consuming all we are. When those moments arise, know that you can go to God and that He frees us of all of that mess! So remember, don't worry about ANYTHING! We have a Savior who is there for us when we go through those seasons and know that He brings the ultimate freedom from worry.
Prayer:
Jesus,
I thank You for all that You are to me and all that You do for me. I thank You that when I have thoughts of worry, stress, anxiety, or anything like that, I don't have to face it on my own or in my own strength because you are there to help me whenever I need You. Thank You for loving me and help me to live a fearless life with You and for You.
Amen

Genelle,
I was inspired with the articulate way in which you expressed the truths of God in your article.
I truly did enjoy the statement of why would we let worry into our lives when it is something so destructive, and yet, daily, we have to remind ourselves and resist the "beast" called worry. So often people accept worry as a natural part of life, but we are supernaturally gifted with the Word of God and the Name of Jesus to keep that spiritual dark force of worry out of our lives.
Good job big sister. I pray that the Lord will give you a new, bigger, and smarter mind. May God keep and bless you and may the Lord make His face shine upon you and give you his peace. I love you sister. <3
