Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
As humans, we live in a world run by the ideology that everything that goes on in our lives needs must be planned, scheduled, and perfect, down to the minute. In theory, this may sound good, as it allows us to think that we are in control of at least some piece of our life, but in reality, we aren't, and none of that weight and stress is even supposed to be in our hands!
This verse in Jeremiah 29:11 encourages and reminds us that the Lord has a good and hope-filled plan for us. They were laid out in the heart and mind of Him even long before you and I were a thought (Psalms 139:16), and those promises still remain true even today. Not only are the plans the Lord has for us good, but they are also there to remind us to trust in Him with what we have not yet seen. If the destiny the Father has laid out for us is to give us hope and a future, what is the need to worry about what our future holds, when it is God who holds our future? Today, I want to encourage you to trust in the Lord again. Find peace in knowing that even if we may not see or know what goes on behind the scenes, God wants what is best for us, and His plans are never anything short of that.
