Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT) Part 2
"Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."
Out of all the verses in the Bible, this passage of Scripture is my favorite one. It is so simple, yet extremely powerful. When reading verses 6 through 7, I believe there are five simple steps that you can use to help you live out this daily walk called life.
Step 2: Pray about everything
This verse says that instead of worrying, we should pray about EVERYTHING (emphasis on the word everything). Why should we pray about everything? You see, worrying is a draining and pointless activity, void of power to enact any change, but prayer actually changes things! When we pray, God moves! Prayer is not only about communicating with God, but also the act of surrender. As difficult as it is to comprehend, we must realize that we are not in control of our lives, but He is. Once we can accept and submit to His way, we begin to understand that He has complete control over everything.
Prayer is the act of interacting or conversing with God. When we open up and invite Him into the hidden and fear-stricken chambers of our hearts, He hears us and comes to our aid. No matter what is going on in our lives, we can go to God in prayer. When we pray, we acknowledge His presence and power. Prayer is crucial in developing an intimate relationship with God.
Sometimes, prayer can seem intimidating. The idea that God, who is the most powerful being in all of existence, wants to have a personal relationship with us is mind-blowing. The comfort we have is that He made us, knows our hearts, and loves to interact with us in prayer. There is no reason to be afraid when we are talking with Him. In fact, when we pray, He loves it!
In prayer, we present our requests to the Lord and seek His direction, wisdom, and solution regarding the situations at hand. Surprisingly, prayer also has the ability and power to deal with the innermost parts of our soul, transforming us from the inside out. In essence, the Holy Spirit connects our deepest longings with God's heart, which releases something miraculous both in the physical and spiritual realm.
Prayer is a great blessing that we have been given, and it's even better to know that we have access to it at all times! Whether you are at the highest peak of life, or down in the dumps, know that God is there for you. He hears you and is at work on your behalf. You can trust
Him to handle your concerns with the greatest of care. So, when life knocks you down, get comfy on your knees and pray.
Prayer:
Dear Lord,
I thank You that I can communicate with You through prayer, no matter where I am. I thank You that You love me so much, all I need to do is call Your name, and I have all of Your attention. Help me not to make prayer a routine, but an intentional delight in my relationship with You! Grant me the wisdom to come to You with everything, and help me surrender entirely to You, Your will, and Your ways.
Amen

Wow girly this really is great! It’s a great reminder too because worrying is a habit of mine that I’ve been meaning to break, and now I know that prayer is the answer to that! 💞
