Pick Your Path

Matthew 7:13-14 (NLT)

“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it."

To enter the Kingdom of God, you will be on a journey that requires you to take a narrow path. Let's be honest: narrow roads are just about the hardest things to maneuver, let alone cross through, yet that is our pathway to Heaven. The way to get to an eternity with Jesus is just about the hardest thing from easy. After all, the world is always trying to place roadblocks in our way that have been designed to test us, tempt us, and try to get us to turn our gaze away from the Lord, and then turn around and take the easy way out.

Isn't it crazy that the easy, carefree, and manageable (if you will) path toward eternity is the one that leads to everlasting torture and destruction? It is so easy to sin, and if we are being honest in the moment, it's fun too. The route to Hell is appealing and appeasing to what our flesh longs for, making it so much easier to want to stray from the path God has set before us and then fall into sin.

In essence, the easy way out isn't always the best one for you. It is the experiences of trials, tribulations, and tests that strengthen both us and our faith in the Lord and trust me when I say that it is so much more worth it. I don't know about you, but I would much rather want to be on the narrow path just because I know where my eternity will lead to. The prayer and cry of my soul are that each one of us are not phased and swayed by the alluring path laid out before us by the enemy, but instead, be okay with taking the trail that is hard and toiling and laborious, but oh so worth it. Pick your path.
