Earlier this week, I was in a time of prayer and worship for there to be a revival and fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit over our world. While praying, I felt the Lord speak something to my heart.
He spoke these words to me: "You need to stop treating me like your vending machine and start declaring who I am over your situations and what you are asking me to fix up for you." Wow, powerful and shaking, all at the same time, am I right? I then had the impression to go onto my Bible app and search up just who exactly God is. These were a few of the things I found:
God is...
a solid rock (2 Samuel 22:23 and Psalms 18:31).
my helper (Psalms 54:4).
jealous for us (Deuteronomy 4:24).
working in us (Philippians 2:13).
greater than all other gods (2 Chronicles 2:5).
a God who saves and rescues us from death (Psalms 68:20).
love (1 John 4:8).
all-powerful (Job 36:22).
an honest judge who is angry with the wicked (Psalms 7:11).
my (strong) fortress and my mighty rock where I hide (Psalms 94:22).
wiser than the wisest and stronger than the strongest human (1 Corinthians 1:25).
with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).
so wise and mighty (Job 9:4).
greater than we can even understand (Job 36:26).
my shield (Psalms 7:10).
with those who obey Him (Psalms 14:5)
our refuge and strength (Psalms 46:1).
merciful and forgiving (Daniel 9:9).
truly good (Luke 18:19).
able to do whatever He promises (Romans 4:21).
greater than our feelings (1 John 3:20).
for us, so no one can be against us (Romans 8:31).
our eternal guide (Psalms 48:14).
on my side (Psalms 56:9).
leading you away from danger (Job 36:16).
going ahead of you (Deuteronomy 1:20)
The repetitive theme of all of these verses is just declaring the great sovereignty of our Lord. The prayer and cry of my heart are that at least one of these affirmations of truth tells us who the Lord is and speaks to you. I also pray that it becomes what you begin to declare over your situations instead of focusing on what surrounds you. Claim it, and be encouraged today!
