The Weight Worth The Wait

Philippians 3:8 (NLT)

“Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ.”

All we face here on earth is nothing compared to the Heavenly treasure and inheritance soon coming our way. Now I get it; we live as sinful people in a world ridden with sin, so trials and tribulations are inevitable. The great hope we believers have is that there is a great, eternal glory coming ahead that makes all of our suffering worth it.

Paul says it best here in Philippians: in the eyes and mind of a believer, everything here on earth is worthless when compared to the greatness that comes with Jesus and the hope He gave us. Eternity with Jesus is what makes every tear you and I have shed, every fear you and I have had to face, every mountain you and I have had to climb, and every valley we've ever been stuck in, worth it. Because Jesus is Lord, be encouraged to know that what you face now is a preparation for what lies ahead. The weight of all of the struggles that you and I have here on earth is worth the wait of the greater glory coming.
