Proverbs 30:8-9
VS 8-9: "First, help me never to tell a lie. Second, give me neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs. For if I grow rich, I may deny you and say, “Who is the Lord?” And if I am too poor, I may steal and thus insult God’s holy name."
This man named Agur had a level of wisdom and insight that is only given to us by the Lord. He asked the Lord to grant Him just two things while he was alive. The first was for the help to never lie, meaning he was asking for the strength to live a life that reflected nothing but honesty and righteousness. The second thing was that the Lord would give him not too little, nor too much, but just enough to satisfy so he could rely not on what was around him, but on Christ alone.
