The Creativity In The Cross

Happy Easter to our amazing Philanthropical Faith Family! Today is the day we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Easter is the day where we commemorate Jesus triumph over death, the grave, Hell, and sin, granting us access to life eternal with Him! This week's devotional is going to be a little different; instead of focusing on a specific Bible Verse, we will be taking our time to focus solely on the cross.

In its day and age, crucifixion was the most gruesome torture device there was. From the flogging and piercing of skin to the struggles of suffocation, it is something no one would ever want to go through. What amazes me is how our Savior chose the worst of the worst to save the best of the best, us. Jesus went through the greatest physical, mental, and emotional torment anyone could ever experience just so that we would have the choice to be with the Father.

That goes to say just how much Jesus loves you and me. We and our perfectly sinful selves were worth it to Jesus, so He looked past all of that pain so we could have a chance at eternal life with Him. Because Jesus made a way for us to have a new life, we must crucify ourselves to sin. We must take all of our sins and struggles to the cross, nail them there, bury them in a tomb, and walk away. The act of dying to our sin is daily labor we all will experience and struggle with, but know that there is hope and forgiveness. God does not expect us to be perfect. All He asks is that we try to obey Him and acknowledge the times we mess up. Through Jesus' gift, we always have access to the Father and the freedom and forgiveness He gives. And that is the "Creativity In The Cross."

Prayer:

Lord, I thank You for sending Jesus to die for our sins. I thank You that through His resurrection, we can now spend eternity with You, and have access to You at all times. I thank You for Your creativity, even in how You took the worst of the worst, and made it the best of the best for us. We love you Jesus.

Amen
