Jeremiah 29:13 (NLT)
"If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me."
When looking for something, you tend to use your eyes. It's as simple as that; your eyes are there to help you see, and that's their purpose. In all honesty, it'd be pretty hard to search for something using something other than your eyes. But that's what makes this passage of Scripture so interesting. Jeremiah speaks on looking for the Father wholeheartedly.
In essence, you need to know that you don't have to search for something only with your eyes but also with your heart. Human eyes grant you the physical reward of seeking, but your heart can give you so much more. God is beyond the things of this world. When looking for Him, we need something that goes beyond the physical as well. That "thing" is the heart. The heart can connect with the things of God, see, and give insight into things the human eye could never achieve. This goes to say that when we are seeking God, there is so much more to Him than what our eyes can see, but it is what we see from the heart that then reveals His true glory to us.
Prayer:
Dear God,
I thank You that You are beyond what I see, feel, and experience. I thank You for allowing me to see You, and understand the things of Your heart with my heart. I love You Lord.
Amen
